The Holiday Season is here!

If you're like us here at Scrappin' Goodtime, you're already planning Thanksgiving dinner, making Christmas lists & thinking about decorating your house for all the festivities. Where does the time go???

Last week we talked about the new rage, Smash Book. Well, I don't know if you realize it, but Mini albums have been burning up the internet for a couple of years and they're even hotter now. There just doesn't seem to be enough time. Pictures never get developed for the scrapbook pages you intend to get done or they get developed and never get put in an album.

A mini album is intended to cover one subject or event. It also, like Smash Book, is supposed to be quick, easy & stress-free. I have fallen in love with them because they take less time, less paper and comes together much quicker than a whole album. They can be embelished to the hilt or be very simple & to the point. The one we have at the store right now is embelished generously & you'll learn three different flower making techniques. But we have classes coming up soon that aren't so "froo-froo." We'll be putting pictures up & offering classes for them so keep watching!

Our home decor projects & ornaments are to die for! So pretty and quick to make. We'll also be doing make & takes on Friday evening for those working women as well as adding evening classes

Don't you like the idea of a no-stress holiday season? I know I do!

Scrappin Goodtime Reunion

Next month will be the store's 9th Anniversary!!
Wow!! It's so hard to believe it's been that long.
I have met so many nice people and have made some really great friends. One of them, a regular Friday nighter at the store, suggested this last week as she was leaving. "Why don't you have a reunion? It would be so much fun to see some of the people who have been coming to the Friday night and Saturday crop parties over the past 9 years." We looked at the calendar and I love repeating dates, some of you may have attended my BIG crop party on 08/08/08. We had 40 people at that party. Next month we will have 11/11/11 what better date could we have asked for. Perfect!!

Friday $11.00 per person
1:11 pm until 11:11 pm
and if you want to come back on Saturday for an ALL DAY CROP Party
it will be FREE, of course it will be from 11:11 am till 11:11 pm
11 plus 11% OFF purchases (22%)

I will furnish dinner, you bring dessert and drinks
FREE Goodie Bag for everyone
Bring your scrapbook so we can catch up!!
Call to reserve your spot. Sorry, I don't have room for 40 people this time.

PS. You can come even if you have never attended before. You can be one of our new scrapbook friends.

So what is Smash Book? The scrapbook world has come up with a way to save your stuff. Great for busy moms, students, or travelers to journal and scrap on the go.
Just put all of your tickets, receipts, pictures, etc. in your book. It comes with a handy little tool that's a pen on one end and glue stick on the other.
Also available are cute tabs, journeling tablets, pockets, tape, and much more to go with any of the 6 different colored books.
Fill it as full as you want, if it won't close, just smash it shut and use a cute Smash Band to keep it that way!

Viva Pearl Pens

Our Viva Pearl Pens are in and Stephanie, of our Design Team, loves them! They retail for S4.99, which is better than ordering on line because you don't pay the postage! They are a little more than Liquid Pearls, but you get almost twice as much product. Stephanie likes them because they dry faster & make prettier pearls. They never leave a little "nipple" on top! You can also put them on your teflon mat then remove them when they dry. This is great if you're nervous about putting them directly on your page or card - just glue them where you want them. Go to our Face Book page and let us know how you what you think!!

Classes, Classes, and more

The Design Team/Dream Team and I had a meeting yesterday and put together a jam packed October calendar of classes and events just in time for the holidays. Unlike the BIG chain stores we are not skipping Halloween and Thanksgiving. We will, though, be offering Christmas classes now so that you will have plenty of time to work on decoration and gift items you learn in the classes. Go to the workshop calendar on the right hand side, click on it, that will pull up this months calendar. If you want more details about a class or event click on it, that will take you to a second page that has pictures, links and more details. All classes require two participants and must be prepaid. Call to reserve your spot 903-641-0855

Crafty Neighbors Workshop

The ladies from Crafty Neighbors will be back at the store this week-end conducting their workshop. They will be doing the workshops on Friday and Saturday afternoon between 1 pm till 7 pm. Each project varies in length. Most are about one hour. The calendar takes about 4 hours but can be shorten by taking some of the furnished supplies home. If you go to their web site , click on classes and scroll down to the Corsicana Classes area and you can see all of the different projects you can make with discriptions and pricing.

You can make one project or more, whatever you have the time, money or desire for. Please call to let us know which project or projects you are interested in so that we can have needed supplies ready. A $10.00 deposit is required.

If you not interested in a complete project, we have added to their schedule a $2.00 dollar technique at 2:00 pm. This will be sort of like a make and take, geared to your need. You can bring a unfinished scrapbook page that you want to add a little extra to and they come up with a quick technique to make it pop!! If there is technique you have been wanting to learn, they will do that too. With each technique learned you get the written instruction and sample to be added to a Technique Ring for you to keep for future reference.

Six Pack and a Pizza

Friday, Sept. 16th and/or
Saturday, Sept. 17th
5 pm until midnight
Special price this month of $30.00 per person

The Six Pack is 3 two page layout kits with picture and written instructions. There are 6 different page layouts to choose from. The Pizza part should be easy figure out. We may have something other than pizza on Saturday night, it doesn't sound as cute to say a 6 pack and a chicken. LOL

The ladies from Crafty Neighbor are designers, so they will be here to help you. They can even help you changed them a little bit to fit your pictures. That's a great little bonus!!

Call to reserve your spot. 903-641-0855
Kits are limited.

Super Sale

I have 10 tables in the store crop area that are covered with scrapbook items that are a minimum of 50% OFF, some items more. A store in Houston closed last year and I aquired their ending inventory. I got it sight unseen. They told me that there was a lot, but I had no idea that there would be more than I could put out in the store. I ran out of hooks and wall space. There is a ton of travel items, almost every state plus the Virgin Island, Bahama and Puerto Rico. If you or anyone you know is about to celebrate their 25th Anniversary, I have that covered. Got a cat, got that. If you still have a good Coluzzle blade and mat. I have FREE templates you can have. There were also album refill pages for albums I have never heard of. I will put out a sample of each type and if you can use, you are more than welcome to them. I hate to throw away prefectly good items. Come by and see if you can think of a way to re-purposes some of these items

Garage Sale

Not just any garage sale, it's a scrapbooking garage sale. We did this last year and it was a huge success. We had several die cutting machines that sold for well below suggested retail price. We had paper, stickers, embellishments, tools, totes, books, and tons of magazines. Some of the items had never been used. It's a great way to clean out your scrapbook room or tote so you can make room for new items. If you are not going to use it, sell it and buy something you will use. The way the sale works is that I will rent out the tables in the retreat area. There are a total of 15 tables. Each table will rent for $5.00. (you can share it with a friend). All your items must be marked with your initials and the sale price. You will receive store credit for items sold. The price has to be $3.00 or more. You can bag items together to make it have a value of $3.00 or more. If you need bags, I will sell them to you at my cost of 3 cents each, or you can buy big zip lock bags at the grocery store. The garage sale will be from Friday, Aug. 26th until Saturday, Sept. 3rd. You can start bringing your items down any time this week, but I will not start selling until Friday morning at 10:00 am. You do need to come pick up items not sold or I will dispose of them on Tuesday after Labor Day. People have asked if they can sell items other than scrapbook items. You can, but most people coming to the sale are going to be looking for scrapbook items because it's at a scrapbook store.

New Custom School Paper

I have gotten in "New" Custom school paper and stickers. I ordered 2 new styles this year. I have it for most of the schools near Corsicana and some not so close. If I don't have your school, I will be happy to order it. I just need to know the details of your school; name, school colors, mascot and the style you like. I have a catalog with all of the different styles you can pick from. If you make the request for your school, I will order the one you like and hope everyone else at your school agrees with your pick. LOL You do not have to live near Corsicana either, I will take your request over the phone and ship it to you. There will be shipping charges added, so I would suggest you get with other scrapbooking moms in you neighborhood and place a group order. The paper is $1.49 per sheet and the stickers are $2.99 each. Shipping charges will be around $6.00.

This is going to be an open retreat where everyone is welcome to come and make NEW scrapbooking friends. Come BEAT the heat, too. I keep the retreat so cool that I have had to  buy blankets. Can you believe that? 110 degrees  and I'm buying blankets. I've told everyone that it will not hurt my feeling or my electric bill if they want to turn the air off, but "no" they all scream it makes for such a wonderful nights sleep. If you don't want a cold room, we have those too.(normal 72 degree) Everyone that has stayed at the retreat have commented on how much they love the mattresses too. One of my BEST BUYS. It's also Teri's Birthday week-end, so if you can't come for the week-end come join us for some of fun on Saturday. Come crop all day for $10.00. We are going to have pizza,  cake, ice cream, goodie bags and games, just like the kids do it. We are going to play some of the games on Minute to Win it and my favorite Deal or No Deal. Week-end Work Shops

Weekend Workshop
I have teamed up with the ladies  at Crafty Neighbor to offer workshops on the weekends.
In the workshop format, you pick the project you want to make and work at your on pace. It will be every weekend from 1 pm till 7 pm on Friday and Saturday, so you can find a time that best fits your busy weekend schedule. To reserve your spot a deposit of $15.00 is required in advance. There will be instructors to get you started and help as needed.  You can make one project or all. There are 6 projects to choose from now, but we will add 2 new projects each month. At some point we will have 10 projects every weekend to choose from. Click on the link below to see a slide show of some of the projects. If you put the cursor over the picture it will give you the name and price of that project.

Six Pack and a Pizza

What does that mean??? It's not beer and pizza. Starting in September, on the first weekend of each month, I will be having a pizza party on Friday and Saturday night. (that part I bet you understood). I'm going to change the date to the Last week-end in August, because the first week-end is Labor Day week-end. In Oct it will be the first week-end.  The 6  pack is 3 - two page layout kits with a full color picture of the finished layout and written instructions. The fee will be $40.00 per person. You can make the page layout with an instructor to help you, and enjoy the pizza.  If you can't make it to the party, you can pick it up at the store or I will ship to you for a additional $5.00 fee (pizza will not be included. LOL) I will put up pictures next week of the first months page layouts. In order for us to know how many kits to put together it must be pre-paid by the 25th of each month.  This has been very popular at other stores. With all of us being so busy this will help us get some pages made faster. If you are new to scrapbooking this will also be a great way to learn new techniques.

Questions About Retreat

Having the retreat and scrapbook store under one roof is a new concept in the scrapbook world, so I get lots of questions. Here are the ones I get the most.

Q. When is the next retreat?
A. It's whenever you want to come. You can come by yourself (I would suggest bringing at least one friend)or with group. We are open 7 days a week, so you can check in and out on any day of the week.

Q. Can we have a private retreat (just our friends)?
A. Yes, if you book 9 or more the retreat is closed to others. If you collect all of the money and guaranty the payment, you stay FREE. If I do not have full payment 30 days prior to your stay, I will try to book the other rooms.

Q. Does someone with Scrappin Goodtime stay at the retreat?
A. If there are 6 of more people staying at the retreat on any givin night, someone does stay and keeps the store open till midnight. If there are less than 6, we close the store and go home. We are just a phone call away.

Q. If you go home, are we locked in the retreat?
A. No. You are locked out of the store not locked in the retreat. There is a separate door to the outside  and you have key to it. If you do leave please lock the door.

If you have more question please call me, email or post on Scrappin Goodtime Facebook page. I will try to answer as they come in. Thanks.
